FAIRBANKS — After being drubbed by the Alaska Avalanche on Friday night, the Fairbanks Ice Dogs stormed back to the top of the mountain Saturday night.

The Fairbanks Ice Dogs got stingy Saturday night, often taking away the middle of the ice from the Wenatchee Wild. The space restrictions allowed the host team to take a 3-1 victory for a split of the North American Hockey League series in the Big Dipper Arena.

“Our turnovers,” Ice Dogs head coach Josh Hauge said, targeting what he considered the reason for his team’s 2-1 loss in the Big Dipper Ice Arena. “We just turned the puck over to them too many times, and they out-special teamed us. They scored on the power play. We didn’t.”

FAIRBANKS—The Fairbanks Ice Dogs lost their third straight North American Hockey League game Wednesday night at the hands of the Fresno Monsters. The 3-2 loss marked the second consecutive 3-2 game in which the Ice Dogs came up short.

After the Ice Dogs battled back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game in the third period, Kenai’s Chris Rial scored the game-winner to give the Brown Bears a 3-2 North American Hockey League victory.
