Fairbanks forward Jared Larson struck for four goals and two assists as the Ice Dogs celebrated a two-game sweep over Alpena. On Thursday, the Apple Valley, Minn., native scored the game-winning goal and an assist in a 5-4 triumph. The next night, the 20-year-old rang up a natural hat trick and an assist as the Ice Dogs bested the IceDiggers, 6-5. He was also a plus-4 on the weekend.
“Jared has tremendous upside and is one of the best college prospects in junior hockey,” said Ice Dogs head coach Josh Hauge. “We’ll need Jared to have a big season for us if we’re going to have success.”
