FAIRBANKS- The Ice Dogs stuck it to cancer over the weekend, raising thousands of dollars in support of the Circle of Hope campaign at the Greater Fairbanks Community Hospital Foundation.  They also took four of six points from the Chippewa Steel in the 3-game series.

Six different Ice Dogs tickled the twine in Saturday’s 6-3 win over the Steel.  Laker Aldridge capped his birthday weekend by scoring his fourth of the season, which proved to be the game winner Saturday night.  Luke Mobley, Luke Ciolli, Jax Murray, Tyler DeWeese and Grant Ledford also scored for Fairbanks.

By taking two of three from the Steel, the Ice Dogs tighten their grip on second place in the NAHL Midwest Division with 47 points.  The Minnesota Magicians, who like the Dogs are 6-3-1 in their past 10 games, hold the top spot in the midwest, with 53 points on the season.  There are four more match ups between the division rivals remaining in regular season play.  Meanwhile, Janesville sits in third place in the midwest, while Springfield rounds out the top four.

The Ice Dogs are idle this coming weekend, and will take the time to heal up a few bruises, while preparing for the regular season home stretch.  The Dogs next take the ice Feb.1 when they host Corpus Christi in the opener of a 2-game set at the Big Dipper Ice Arena.
